The Kahnawake Gaming Commission, pronounced Kah-na-wake, is a licencing regulator for interactive online gambling services located in Canada within the Kahnawake region.
Kahnawake itself is located approximately 20 minutes from Montréal, Canada on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. It's population at last count was around 8,000 mostly with a proud and rich cultural history that dates back further than 1719 when first recorded by first French Candians of the time.
The Gaming Commission itself was formed and founded on June 10, 1996 pursuant to the provisions of the Kahnawake Gaming Law (MCR No. 26 / 1996-97) going on to officially licence its first casino in 1999 making them one of the longest running jurisdictional licencing entities in the world to date.
Today the Kahnawake Gaming Commission upholds licences for several large and small online gambling operations mostly serving establishments wishing to operate gambling services within the United States. They currently have data sharing treaties with several other major gambling regulators including the newly founded Jersey Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Commission and Alderney, further enhancing their reputation.
For the time being given the lack of options for many United States casino players the Kahnawake remains the go to authority for most online casinos operating within the US.
